| Dark charcoal grey or black with nailhead trim? |
I have two rather sad sofas sitting at my house at the moment; both are waiting for a makeover. Apart from the lack of time, they haven't been re-finished because I'm being rather indecisive about the colours!
One is a contemporary high armed sofa, with no back cushions and is currently navy. It was supposed to be going upstairs in the living room (hence the navy, black, grey and mustard colour scheme). But...
I bought another small sofa as well. It's slope armed with a smaller foot print and currently some kind of hideous diagonally striped, grandad's wooly cardigan style fabric. It will fit much better upstairs.
The result is that both now need upholstering and I have to choose the colours...

| Light grey-brown? |
 |
| White? (That's already a no - not with dogs inside!) |
 |
| Black? |
 |
| I like this dark greige colour on the armchair. |
 |
| Light grey with contrast piping. |
 |
| Black with white piping. |
 |
| Beige - like this but maybe too light? |
 |
| Oh, I would love stripes. |

Does anybody have any suggestions?
I am loving charcoal upholstery with contrast piping. I have to say though that navy with mustard and coral sounds divine!
ReplyDeleteThe browny greige sounds great! I can't wait to see what you choose.
ReplyDeleteI got a special surprise in the mail the other day (we only check our mail every few days!)...Thank you so much! You are so sweet. I look forward to seeing what amazing transformations we can work on!
Best wishes,
Natasha.
The greige looks great! Looking forward to see what you pick!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day, Anna!

I have to say I just love the word 'greige'. Unfortunately my brain is too full to offer any further feedback!!

Hi Anna!
ReplyDeleteI like the navy for upstairs and really like the look of that darker greige chair fabric for the other...especially with the pops of orange. Yum!
And now I REALLY want to see a photo of that awful upholstery. Your description is hilarious!
Hope you're well!

I have a strong leaning towards textured dark charcol at the moment but with your accent colours I think Navy would be gorgeous. Perhaps the greige could be used on an accent chair? Look forward to hearing what you decide!

I had the same dilemma when choosing our wing-back studded bed head. I liked the beige but didn't want it to get dirty. In the end I chose Warwick's Linnum in slate which is a brownish/grey colour. It really is half way between chocolate and grey. Good luck with choosing.

Hi again Anna! Thank you for joining my blog and welcome! I read your 'about me' blurb and had a laugh. I think most frustrated want-to-be designers blog for the same reason! Glad to know we're in good company with those in the business! LOL!

I quite like earthy tones for sofas and recently fell in love with a gorgeous khaki/brown herringbone tweed design I saw. Would be lovely with some bright cushions. I'm sure it'll be fab whatever you decide!
ReplyDeleteNice thanks for posting I really like it. : )
